drip drip

I should probably save this post for tomorrow so as to stretch out the new stuff i've done a bit longer but i had a few minutes today.
and that's how you get stuff done in this place.

so this is my new painting. i finished it about a week or so ago and then took these photos of my young painting assistant to show the scale. i had the idea for this painting after the terrible plumbing news we had before xmas holidays but also because i wanted something to cover a big section of the "house-sellers-beige" wall in our bathroom.
i thought: if anybody needs some inspiration while they are sitting on our can...drip! drip!

some people decorate their bathrooms with seashells and starfish.
well, this is me.

it's a combination of acrylic paint, ink marker and collage.

i chose a dessert-themed comic for you.

i'm back baby.

man oh man.
what a backlog. ideas shared but not drawn. drawings completed and not scanned. drawings scanned and not moved to proper computer.

today and for this week it will be a flurry of catching up.

i have to say that this has kind of represented my state of mind lately too. some progress made but not much to show for it. effort put out but nowhere near getting anything done or really able to show off.
i clean and tidy the same two rooms more than once a day and they always look like a disaster.
i make efforts to eat well and drink lots of water but my poor body has been dragging for more than two months and my lips are so parched they don't fit together.

perspective: i am growing a new baby and looking after a toddler.
it's winter in winnipeg.
i haven't been outside much.

i won't let myself feel guilty about not getting to something that i love to do. i celebrate when i can get to it and i will continue to hold on through the dry spells.

and check it out! now i got a new comic to share today!!

it's a little rough around the edges but i hope the sentiment reaches you loud and clear,

Goodbye "the flu" and Hello 2011!

That was a semi-rough holiday. Rough because I was in Ontario feeling very, very sick...but it wasn't as bad as it could have been because I had my mom to look after me and make sure I had hot baths and lots of warm rooibos tea.

Anyways, now that the mucus is breaking up, I thought I would officially break my long blogging dry spell with a look at what I made for xmas for some of the hip babies in my life.

Hand-printed neckerchiefs.

Except for now I can't get my image to load. Well I totally can't NOT post this thing now. I've come so far!!
sigh.
Well, I guess I will follow up with the image later and build the suspense a little...
